3 Things I’ve Learnt About Exercising Postpartum

#1 - Patience
Patience to heal, patience with yourself physically, mentally, emotionally. To get to know your new body, to respect what it’s just been through. To learn again how to move. Patience that you won’t have the energy to give to every session.

#2 Recovery isn’t linear - I’ve said this to so many clients for injuries and rehabilitation but honestly have never felt it in my own body. You will have ups and downs, times when your on a roll and times when life or your body stops you in your tracks. There are so many more variables that are at play. That line does go straight up, she’s gonna have some zigs and zags, and that’s ok. 📈

#3 - Intention means so much more than what you are actually doing.

What is your intention for that movement?
Are you striving for a goal?
Is this your time alone to reset?
Are you intending to push the boundaries a little?
Are you giving back to yourself and your body?
