What I’d Tell Myself as a New Mum
Time isn’t slipping away ⏳-
“Soak it all in before you know it they will be all grown up”. “You’ll miss these moments”. I was so anxious about trying to soak in ALL the moments and to be SO present that I kinda did the opposite. Yes they grow soo quick and you feel like it was just yesterday you brought them home. But every new stage can bring so much more.
Good enough IS good enough ☺️ - I can’t say how many hours and energy I spent agonising over naps or feeds or trying to get a “routine” or that the tv shouldn’t be on, or if we’re doing enough, engaging enough, doing the “right thing”. But in their tiny little world good enough IS good enough. They really don’t need much and they will ask for what they need.
Don’t sweat what you don’t know or need to know 🧠- Ooft this one, I was so S T R E S S E D and A N X I O U S about so many things that were out of my control. The abundance of connection and information out there for new parents is a gift and a curse. Inform yourself WHEN and IF you need to be informed. Outside of that just hang in your little world with your little family.
